Interview with a very important person
I personally had to make an interview with an important person, namely Bogi. She is one of the organizers, who is supervising the daily program and the themes of the week – but not all alone, of course.
Kecskenewsás: When have you been in the PEOPLE TEAM for the first time, and what was your position?
Bogi: I arrived in 2008 and then I was working as an English teacher. But since last year I am around as an organizer.
KN: Is it difficult to make the programs according to the different themes?
B: Well, we usually invent the tasks at home, before the camp, and we select the themes as well. But I have loads of work during the camp too, because we have to get prepared for the impossible scenarios. For example, for the case when the weather turns out to be bad, and so on. The preparations lasted for a month.
KN: And may I ask what will be the topic of the second week?
B: I am not supposed to tell it to any of the pupils, but I can say that geographically it will be far away from Hawaii, and it’ll be very exciting.
KN: And what is the process of a theme invention?
B: We meet up with the organizers, come up with some ideas, we make notes and then we pick the ones that are easier to prepare the setting for. What is more, the games have to be in connection with the themes.
KN: I see. And what else are you doing in the camp?
B: Well, as we already invented thet asks, we are just making some corrections if necessary. For example if we go to swimming pool, the evening program can’t be a physically active one, because the kids are already tired.
KN: Many times there is horror movie showing, or ’courage testing’ on Saturday. Do you plan any of these this week?
B: It depends on how many children will stay for the next week. If there will be too many of you, it is not worth to organise a ’courage testing’, because the children are doing these in smaller groups, and if there are more than one hundred kids, it would take too much time.
KN: Which position you like more, being an English teacher or an organizer?
B: I like both the same.
KN: Do you like the mood in PEOPLE TEAM?
B: I just love it! I am looking forward to it whole year!
